Our goal is to generate solid evidence on the efficacy, safety, and optimal protocols for the use of whole-body electrostimulation, promoting its responsible and informed integration into health- and high-performance-oriented exercise programs.
What do we research?
Our research focuses on the scientific evaluation of the effects of whole-body electrostimulation (WB-EMS) as an innovative tool in the field of health and sports performance. We study how this technology, which combines electrical impulses with voluntary muscle contractions, can influence improvements in strength, body composition, functional capacity, and metabolic health markers in both clinical populations and athletes.
We analyze key variables such as the intensity, frequency, and duration of WB-EMS sessions, as well as their combination with different forms of traditional physical training. We evaluate their applicability in specific contexts such as the prevention of sarcopenia, functional rehabilitation, fat loss, or the optimization of athletic performance in athletes from different disciplines.
